She is a woman who is most notable for her impossibly large_breasts and completely revealing cleavage. In contrast to her younger superior, Hitsugaya_Toshirou, she has a relaxed personality and is fond of drinking sake. Her non-serious attitude often frustrates him, but nevertheless the two have a close relationship. She is childhood friends with Ichimaru_Gin and he is notably kinder to her than he is to anyone else. Her zanpakutou is Haineko. Its guard is shaped like a cat's head and Matsumoto unleashes it by saying, "Growl." The zanpakutou gives her the ability to control ash that can cut anything it lands on by moving the hilt of her sword. It can also be used as a shield. She is one of the more popular female characters in the series, an opinion that is shared by Kubo_Taito himself who stated that he has a lot of fun drawing and writing her and that she is one of his two favorite female characters in the series.
