Now Viewing: nomura_tetsuyaTag type: Artist ιζ ε²δΉ Square Enix employee. Born October 8, 1970. He started off as a debugger for Final Fantasy IV and moved into monster design for Final Fantasy V-VI. He designed the characters for Final Fantasy (7 and spinoffs, 8, 10 and X-2, 13 and XIII-2, and the early versions of Final Fantasy XV, Versus XIII) Parasite_Eve, and Kingdom_Hearts. He also directed the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Final_Fantasy_VII_Advent_Children, and Final_Fantasy_VII_Remake He tends to design characters with elaborate outfits, often with multiple belts and zippers. Part of the reason for creating characters with complex costumes is to give the programmers a challenge. He also likes to have the characters' costumes reflect the characters' personality in some way. For example, Final Fantasy X's protagonist Tidus was given a colorful outfit to match his upbeat personality. Although most of his games are set in fictional fantasy universes, the outfits his characters wear are influenced by contemporary fashion. His male and female characters are often beautiful with the former often reaching androgynous levels. He often favors cryptic storylines where a lot of things are left unsaid in order to provoke speculation and varied interpretations amongst players. Nomura considers the original main Final Fantasy artist Amano_Yoshitaka to be one of his biggest influences. He also cites fellow Square employees/his superiors Kitase Yoshinori, Sakaguchi Hironobu, Itou Hiroyuki, and Takahashi Tetsuya as major influences on him. In his early years at Square, he even considered Sakaguchi to be a godly figure. After Nomura's well-received work on Final Fantasy VII, Nomura himself would be given the chance to design more characters for the franchise and ascended to becoming one of the most prominent Square Enix directors. As a game director, he specializes in Action RPGs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetsuya_Nomura Other Wiki Information Last updated: 04/18/20 1:42 PM by jojosstand This entry is not locked and you can edit it as you see fit. |
