Now Viewing: gyakuten_kenjiTag type: Copyright Spinoff series of the Gyakuten Saiban series starring fan favorite character Mitsurugi Reiji. The games are chronologically set between Gyakuten Saiban 3 and Gyakuten Saiban 4, but incorporate more references and characters from the first three Gyakuten Saiban games. The first game debuted in 2010 for the Nintendo DS. Unlike past GS games, Reiji is controllable during investigation segments and can move around the various environments, talking to people and looking for clues. The games are also unusual in that much of the action takes place outside of the courtroom. All of the cases in each game are linked together to form a longer continuous story as opposed to the more episodic structure of the other Gyakuten Saiban games. GS Series creator Takumi Shu did not write the story for this series. Despite the differences from past GS games, the series retains the goofy humor and elaborate plotting of past games.
