It is a loose retelling of the Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The setting has been updated into a modern Japanese high school and the majority of the book's mostly male characters are turned into busty teenage girls. The series is notable for its large amount of fan service. The girls' clothes are frequently torn during fights and they're often half naked or near naked by the end of the fight. Despite the sex appeal, the fights can occasionally get violent and have the characters suffer nasty injuries.
