She is the daughter of Karuma Go and has a hyper competitive personality. She becomes Ryuuichi's rival after Ryuuichi manages to defeat Reiji who is her adoptive brother. She has a hot temper and often whips people whenever she's angered even in the middle of court proceedings. She is also quite arrogant and often ridicules what she perceives as lack of intelligence in others. Although she is generally very unfriendly, she is notably nicer towards Kiro Kamiya who develops something of an attraction to her and is not as abrasive towards Ichijou Mikumo with whom she sympathizes with. She also never whips Ayasato Kimiko. As Ryuuichi proves himself to be a capable defense attorney, she develops a respect for him and mellows out a bit around him. As a young girl, she used a riding crop instead of a whip to whip people. She was originally intended to be a playable fighter in Tatsunoko vs Capcom alongside Ryuuichi, but the two of them were scrapped. Ryuuichi has become a fighter in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 but Mei has yet to have a fighting crossover.
