what possible reason could one have for an amputee fetish. i can't understand what possible reason you could have for wanting to to look at girls who are missing body parts. What's worse are those who are turned on by wanting to be amputees. i understand that it's your body and you can do what you want with it. But why, why would you do this to your body?

@Summer Glau - It's the idea of being nothing more than an object or piece of meat used to satisfy someone, and having no limbs is like the ultimate bondage. As an amputee fetishist, the idea is extremely arousing for myself. Unfortunately, it doesn't work so well in real life, and I seriously doubt anyone is going to amputate their limbs just to enjoy such a fleeting FANTASY. Because that's all it should ever be. And that's why we have imaginations, folks. Please never confuse things with reality though.

Now if limbs were safely detachable and reattachable via a portal or something, I would be open to such an idea. :D Unfortunately science can only do so much in this day and age.. Damn you Aperture Science.

Oh, and some people just like Guro. *shrug*

Anon3 gets it, though for me the fantasy has never been *entirely* sexual (just, uh... mostly, in recent years). I remember as an elementary student being absolutely fascinated by mechanical limbs and whatnot.

But yeah, I don't confuse fantasy with reality and I never want to.

@anon 2 - thank you you are the first person to actually explain this to me

There's also the nonsexual dependent side of it as well anon 2. However it's still a control thing. The sexual side is as anon 3 explained, however a nonsexual side is having someone who NEEDS you. Who physically couldn't operate on a day-to-day level without your aid making you a intrinsic and irreplaceable person in someones eyes.

It's still a fantasy like they said though.

Summer Glau:

It is hardly explainable. Acrotomophilia is not something you could reason out. And there's no need for such a resolve. Being an acrotomophile, you look at these sweet amputees and feel the cocktail of aesthetic joy and sexual arousal flooding your body, an inmost, beautiful feeling. It is not gross by any means. I guess it is a sort of aesthetical perception that many people lack and thus wonder, like you do.

Put simply, usually you don't acquire acrotomophilia. You're most probably born with it, the dearest gift. So all the explanations are in vain.

@Summer Glau

I know an xkcd reference when I see one and let me just say you did a pretty poor job. Incorrect capitalization and punctuation indeed. Hmph. You even made me interrupt my masturbation to find the right comic.
