Now Viewing: kenshirouTag type: Character The muscular male hero of Hokuto no Ken. He wears a black leather jacket with shoulder pads and has scars on his chest that form a constellation. His appearance is modeled after both Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky and Bruce Lee. He is the youngest of four adopted sons trained in the Hokuto Shinken martial arts style by Ryuken. He is deemed the most capable to succeed Ryuken. Unfortunately, this also sparks one of the major conflicts of the series as his brothers, save Toki, are very displeased with Ryuken's decision. In combat, he specializes in hitting pressure points and uses these points to manipulate people's bodies. For the cruelest of villains, he hits the pressure points in such a way to give said people a gruesome and painful demise. For more sympathetic antagonists, he uses more humane methods. His pressure points attacks often take a few seconds to take effect prompting Kenshiro to deliver his famous catch phrase in response to enemies who continue to taunt him without realizing what's about to happen, "you_are_already_dead" Not only is he a master of Hokuto Shinken, he is also good at figuring out his opponents' fighting styles and incorporating their moves into his repertoire. In the anime he often lets out Bruce Lee-esque battle cries. Although he is a serious looking man who uses a rather brutal fighting style, he has a very strong moral compass and is very compassionate towards people. He uses his skills to help others and wanders the land searching for his lover Yuria and helping people along his way. Whenever he is particularly moved or saddened, he often openly sheds tears and is credited for breaking the tradition of male action heroes in Japanese pop culture never shedding tears. He is voiced by Kamiya_Akira (80s TV series, movie), Koyasu_Takehito (OVAs), Kawamoto_Kunihiro (arcade game, Legend of Heroes), Abe_Hiroshi (film series), and Konishi_Katsuyuki (Hokuto Musou).
