well humanity increases drop rate so why not run around with humanity and 30 is the cap on the increase.

You can only increase drop rate with up to 5 or so humanity. You'll need gear to further increase the drop rate.

Actually, the drop rate increases up to 10 humanity, but it's not worth using more than 1. The base drop rate is 100. 1 humanity gives you 150. After that, each additional humanity gives you 7 or 8 (back and forth) until the last 3 or 4 give you exactly 6. Curse resistance, however, increases all the way to the 31st humanity.

And damned if that curse resist isn't useful. I have never been cursed in the game yet due to my being a turtling overcautious bastard and running around with a bunch of liquids on me.
