Gelbooru's very own wiki entry for Newhalf has this to say:
"For counting characters use the girls tags; i.e. 1girl, 2girls, etc. however if all characters are newhalf do not use the female tag as newhalfs are considered their own gender."
If that's not the rule, then it shouldn't be written there. As long as it is, tag accordingly
