I hear you guys complaining about the meat system making no sense.
here is some logic that will compleatly override the "sell as meat" idea.
First of all, "dead" meat sells for less then "Live" meat (taking away the processing fees) and has a chance to rot before being eaten. Second, even though the food market sells pretty well usually, The sex industry usually has a higher profitability margin per products. So not only is it cruel, inhuman, and definitely not done right. Its also inefficient money wise. And yes I know its porn/hentai that I am attempting to apply logic to, but I will never understand be able to understand the cooking, eating, or turning someone into food fetish that some people seam to have.

Then females end up becoming the primary birth across the world, to the extent of roughly 10,000 to 100,000 for every male birth. Kind of makes men an important matter if you want to continue the species doesn't it, while avoiding over-population? In some backstories, females also mature at an accelerated rate compared to men, so using them as food is pretty much the only alternative if you wish to have the human species continue, let alone have people have a chance to figure out how to change things back... (Though I admit, most stories don't go that far, instead favoring the new status quo of females as livestick, hence the tag...)

I think fiction is fiction, and reality is reality. The whole point of art like this is to stir up the sort of "it's so horrible that i can't look away" feelings in people.
I feel the need to respond however to the anon above me, trying to rationalize the fictional stories as having some sort of plausibility assuming the conditions in said stories are met. The fact is, the meat industry in *general* is extremely inefficient and unsustainable. I'm a meat eater myself, but in terms of what the science and numbers say, there is a strong sustainability argument in favor of veganism (but who could ever give up delicious bacon? ;~;).
If food animals were all to die off, which seems impossible since people would just alter their diets to ever more unusual animals... perhaps even insects as is common in some countries, chances are we would just eventually become vegan. a far more likely outcome.
As for the second point, about the birth differences. Polyamory would be the likely result of that, or just promiscuity in general. Also, there already exists technology in testing stages, for producing a child, with just female ova, by creating artificial sperm from the extraction of dna from one subject's eggs, and implanting into another. The process is intended to help males who can't conceive normally, to reproduce, but it can also in theory be used by lesbian couples. The technique is still being improved. But likely a lot of money would be invested in this technology.
You really underestimate women, especially in a society where guns exist, if you think that with a birth rate of 10 to 1, men would still have the ability to enslave them.
As I said, I know this is just fantasy, but I felt the need to correct the poster, who is trying to say that this "could happen for real" if some strange circumstances came to be.
It's very important for people interested in extreme fetishes, to be able to separate reality from fantasy. You're free to say "This is hot", but please don't make an idiot of yourself, by saying "but if our animals died and women were overpopulated, it would TOTALLY HAPPEN IRL".
