I don't think Anon 7's explanation is to exaggerated. Kakashi could NOT have been blind to Naruto's parental status. And I don't care what sort of world you are in, assault is a punishable crime. Kakashi ignored Naruto through 90% of the entire series as a whole, only teaching him tree walking and the basics of elemental manipulation, when a real sensei would have immediately recognized his failures and faults and prescribed workout plans and study items for him to be brought to the level he should have been. Gai is a real sensei, as weird as he is, he cares for his students and held them back a year to be certain that they had the proper skills for the chunin exams. Kakashi should have never been a team sensei to begin with. Naruto and Sasuke should have been apprenticed to existing jonin who where best suited to train them, and Sakura should have never been allowed to be a kunoichi in the first place
