There are definitely some similarities.
Raiden is a white-haired male protagonist who gets stronger the more angry and wounded he gets, and his eyes glow.
Asura is a white-haired male protagonist who gets stronger the more angry and wounded he gets, and his eyes glow.
Jetstream Sam is a black-haired and bearded associate of the main character who starts out being significantly more skilled and eventually assists the main character in some way.
Yasha is a black-haired and bearded associate of the main character who starts out being significantly more skilled and eventually assists the main character in some way.
Raiden could not win the final fight without Sam's sword, Asura could not win the final fight without Yasha's general help.
Furthermore, Armstrong is a violent male antagonist who is attempting to put himself at the very top of command and "Change the world for the better."
