You need a specific sword to find their weak spots or even damage the collossi, unless link has that sword too he is fucked, same deal with ganondorf and any sword that isnt the master sword

That particular sword was forged as a key to the seal that keeps Dormin locked in his separate entities, and to that extent, you are correct. But the idea that they can't be harmed at all by anything but that particular blade seems far-fetched in any fantasy realm, given the presence of the blade that repels all evil. Thinking on it, the Master Sword does, later, become a seal on Ganondorf later in its lifetime as well.
