She is drawn by Shibafu (しばふ) [1]. Kasuga Maru is the personification of the Kasuga Maru ship, the last of three Nitta Maru class of passenger-cargo liners built in Japan during the late 1930s. The ship was requisitioned by the Imperial_Japanese_Navy (IJN) in early 1941 and was converted into an escort carrier, the Japanese aircraft_carrier Taiyou (大鷹, "Big Eagle"/"goshawk"), which was the lead ship of her class of three escort carriers. In the game, Taiyou_(Kantai_Collection) is the remodel version of Kasuga Maru. Kasuga Maru was named after the Kasuga Grand Shrine [2], a Shinto shrine in the city of Nara, in Nara Prefecture. In Kantai Collection Kasuga Maru is mostly represented with a white top-red bottom hakama_skirt, whie Taiyou wears a green one.
