Thref, I have a very vivid visual memory. Trust me. I can't just forget that I saw something. Your mind trick doesn't work for all of us. Unfortunately, there is some stuff typically tagged "guro" which is not, in my book, "guro", so I can't just blacklist it and make it go away. I'm pretty good at glancing at an image, though, and something just "clicks", telling me it's guro and I don't want to pause, even for a moment. Scat and watersports, two more of my "turn-offs" don't register quite so quickly most of the time, but those I can safely blacklist.
Sooo ... I'm left with having to leave guro visible. I *do* believe that we should have an easily toggled option to turn guro, scat, and toddlercon on and off, without having to click through to our account pages. Have these toggles off by default and those images are no longer available to the public without going out of your way to make them visible.
ShanOr, you've probably already figured it out. While I don't like this stuff, myself, I think it belongs here. Guro, scat, and toddlercon, the current "black sheep" of Gelbooru, are still part of the hentai genre, even if they are niche sub-genres. If we start disallowing any particular class of hentai/anime, what's next? Loli? Rape? Tentacles? At some point will we just be left with work-safe anime and missionary position "happysex" images? Yeah ... slippery slope argument, but I think it's a valid one to make my point. Don't step on the slope in the first place and you don't take a chance of sliding down.
And grgspunk makes a very good point that we all need to take notice of. There isn't that much guro being posted here. The problem for some of us is that the posts come in long strings, so that a given page might have a significant proportion of guro. When people see that they tend to make assumptions about all the content being posted.
