The personification of the French seaplane tender Commandant Teste. The historic ship was named after French aviator Paul Teste [1], the first pilot to perform a landing upon a French naval vessel. She was designed and illustrated by Akira_(Kadokawa). She is the first French ship to be included in the game. Similar to Warspite_(Kantai_Collection), Commandant Teste can pronounce French fairly well, but Teste also speaks Japanese with an unusual accent, overly enunciating or pausing on certain words. With little history with other implemented ships or any implemented fellow French ships, her in-game lines focus upon her wanting to train with other seaplane carriers, especially Mizuho_(Kantai_Collection) and Hyuuga_(Kantai_Collection). Commandant Teste wears a large, white floppy beret with a red pom_pom_(clothes) on top, a blue-white-and-red tartan scarf, white double-breasted jacket and belt over a navy blue dress, black_legwear socks, and white-and-red platform_footwear loafers. When damaged, it can be seen she wears white_panties lace_panties. Her long_hair slightly wavy_hair blonde_hair is streaked_hair with blue, white, and red, and is pulled into a ponytail. She has swept_bangs held in place with a small anchor_hair_ornament. Her rigging (machinery) is suspended off her back, consisting of a deck-like platform carrying a mast and several cranes. Two ship-hull like platforms come along either side of her bearing two aircraft_catapults apiece. Small turrets dangle from chains off of her jacket. As it is the case with Mizuho_(Kantai_Collection) (by the same artist), she also has many Seasonal CG: Christmas 2016: Wears a "Santa-fied" version of her outfit, presents and a miniature Christmas_tree on her rigging along with a doll (character_doll) of Seaplane_Tender_Water_Hime hanging from one of her cranes. Setsubun 2017: Holds a masu filled with soy beans and partially wears a mask of Seaplane Tender Water Hime. She also wears a pair of slippers. Valentine's Day 2017: Wears a modified, predominantly red and brown version of her outfit with a brown tartan (plaid) replacing the normal blue-white-and-red and an apron ornamented with tartan hearts. She also wears pantyhose and red shoes, different in design from any of her other shoes. She holds a box_of_chocolates. Hinamatsuri 2017: She holds a plate of Hishimochi, one with a chartreuse bottom (for Mizuho) and one with a blue bottom (for herself). Upon being damaged, the partially burnt hishimochi seemingly spring into life... Historically, Commandant Teste was built as a 10,000-ton seaplane tender as a way to specifically sneak the most powerful ship possible in under the Washington Naval Treaty without counting as a fleet carrier. She participated in the Spanish Civil War [2] by escorting neutral shipping, but did little during World_War_II. After ferrying aircraft to Africa, and being damaged in a British raid on Mers-El-Kebir, [3] the French Vichy Regime scuttled Commandant Teste in 1942 to prevent her from being captured by the Germans as they lost faith in Vichy France to fight the Allies. The Italians managed to bring her back up in 1943, and passed her to the Germans, but Commandant Teste was sunk again by aerial bombing nearly a year after that. Although raised one last time after the war, there was no use seen for her, and she was sold for scrap in 1950. Unfortunately, her name in particular for western fans has become a frequent target to poke fun at due to it being similar to "testes" (testicles).
