All we really need is a scanner that can isolate and penetrate clothing particles.
Register and scan skin.
Then somehow visualize the scan in a viewable picture or video format.
The laws of physics are obstacles yes, but we could overcome it.
TL;DR: Use an x-ray from the (not distant) future.

Those airport scanner things seem pretty close to what you're describing, minus the part where they actually make it look like a naked person.
