I mean, for the whole thing to work, Karin had to be in possession of Sarada's umbilical cord for god knows what reason. Even knowing Japanese people keep those it makes no sense for Sakura to give it to someone she barely knew.

Actually the most implausible part about the whole thing is that Karin has a friendly, healthy relationship with literally anyone.
