I agree with the Op but I also understand the bandwidth concerns. I have my zoom set to 150% on this site so it's no big deal for me anyways.

I might add that in any case, thumbs should be GIF, not JPG, that would help a bit with any bottlenecks. (Ofc static GIF thumbs for animated GIFs.)

Lol really, can you show me an example where a GIF is smaller then a JPG with the same quality? JPG quality at around 80-90

120x150; 4.48 kb
180x225; 8.30 kb

At 42 thumbs around 5 and then 8.5 kb (I'll just round a little upwards) we're going from

210 to 357 kb.

Yes, I was just poking fun. Nice Adblock btw. Even though my connection is excellent, gelbooru loads slowly sometimes. I wouldnt want to slow it down any further. Besides, most of the users are still rocking 1080p, for sure.
