Now Viewing: kyonTag type: Character キョン Narrator and lead male character of the Suzumiya Haruhi series. An ordinary guy who unwittingly gets himself tangled up in Haruhi's antics. Notable for his deadpan way of talking and snarky sense of humor. 'Kyon' is a nickname and his true name, along with his little sister's name, is never revealed. He characterizes himself as a perfectly average and sensible guy who wants little to do with the SOS Brigade's antics, or does he? Although he is the narrator and POV character of the book and anime; both leave it questionable as to how reliable Kyon is as a narrator. Both also feature moments where it's ambiguous as to whether Kyon is speaking aloud or thinking to himself or if other characters can sense what he's thinking. His unreliability as a narrator also casts some doubt on the characterization of the other members of the series' cast fueling multiple interpretations of the characters. He is voiced by Sugita_Tomokazu. In the manga spinoff Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu, he is more openly friendly and less sarcastic though this may be because he is not the viewpoint character of the story. In Nyoron Churuya-san, he, as well as every other character besides Asakura Ryouko, is portrayed as being rather cruel towards Tsuruya. He, or someone cosplaying as him, makes a cameo in Lucky Star.
