If you think about it...the whole Aizen ark was his fault.

& since he crated the hakoudo [Or whatever its called. The thing that gave aizen power] Its not hard to believe that he could some day create something even more powerful then that.

The whole Aizen ark? Not really. Certainly, there are areas that can be blamed on him, but Aizen taking and using the McGuffin wasn't his fault. Had Aizen not taken it, it would probably would have just been left locked away in a vault. Or he would have eventually found a way to destroy it. Aizen knew that, hence why he setup Urahara and got him kicked out of Soul Society. Without the research division backing him up, his resources are severely limited and he can only do so much (though he is very resourceful with what he's got).

Azien was already super strong only thing that thing do was make him immortal he can no longer die. And his power was fatigued so he will be back from being sealed sooner or later.
