Like all AI stuff, it's going to be happening inevitably regardless what anyone feels about it. Like technology doesn't get put on hold just because of internet outrage. At most, it will simply mean countries like China dominate the field.

there's one such instance..do remember that the late Toriyama actually have one apprentice who helped out with Super's creation..Toyotarou...and now he's holding on to the baton for the future Dragon Ball arcs, effectively carrying the legacy of the great Akira Toriyama (I still miss him)
Jesus, no. All this business about people using AI copying their dead relatives is probably the most depressive, nightmarish shit you could do with this tech, and it's disheartening to see that all across the globe, both east and west, there are people who actually do it. Why would I want the artist version of it?
To be fair, I don't even like when real people try to continue a dead artist's work, "based on their notes" or some shit. It's such an entitled consumerist mindset. As other's said in this thread: there was a real person behind that thing you love. Cherish what they gave you, do your part in remembering them and spreading their work, but accept that this is it and let them rest. You will die too.

OKay, I guess I had to add this exception to my previous comment, that sure, in case of an actual apprentice, it makes sense. I can accept that.
