What is she doing?

What's going on with her hands?

That stance usually pertains to snap punch (closing the fist JUST before hitting someone to maximize impact) and open palm strikes, complimented by a deflective defense. A really good style for a woman, as generally, even well trained fighting women aren't as durable as equally trained fighting men. That is, sadly, just biology. Besides, this stance is just plain awesome.

By the short hair, you can tell this is from her earliest days, chillin' out relaxin' with her bois and gurls on the Hong Kong rooftops gettin' into street fights at the tender age of 13, where she learned under Yip Man the art of Wing Chun.

Upon moving to San Fran and fighting with a local, Sino-centric Dojo owner over the rights to teach Guai Lo's the Chinese Boxing styles, she found pure Wing Chun to be too ineffective when it took her more than 3 minutes to destroy her opponent. Her spouse with child was there at the fight, along with many eyewitnesses who validate her quick and decisive victory, although her opponent would retell it differently, remarking an entire half-hour before the eventual, uncontested loss.

And so, armed with a thirst for economy, simplicity, and efficacy, she grew to be the Mustard Seeds we know today, and the founder of the Way of the Intercepting Fist.

Then she died of a Tylenol. Good Night, Sweet Princess RIP.
