Are there ways to block posts by the number of tags they have beyond just using tagme? Or a dynamic way to block tags (more specifically artist tags but I'm not picky) by the number of hits they have?
I'm one of five people on the site who have hit the blacklist limit and I know that while there is some redundancy (pee and peeing, both have posts tagged with one but not the other) the bulk of the blacklist is from blocking artist tags, many of which have fewer than 50 posts, many having fewer than 10. If there was a way to just say block tags with fewer than 50 hits that'd also eliminate pretty much all of those small artists that I've blocked over hundreds of and would block thousands more.
If I could get some advice beyond "just make your blacklist smaller lmao" I'd appreciate it.
This is a bit of a "just make your blacklist smaller lmao", but hear me out:
I am not exactly sure how the blacklist limitations works, but something you can try is to group several tags into a single one using the * wildcard.
For example, using the "pee" and "peeing" case: "pee*" will count for every tag that starts with "pee", which includes "peeing".
So using only "pee*" instead will probably take less space while also blocking both other tags.
I briefly tested it, and it seems to work.
The * works anywhere you put it with the same logic. Can also work multiple times.
But you have to make sure that it won't block more tags than you want it to.
In this specific case, I wouldn't recommend doing so, as there is an awful lot of tags starting with "pee": a lot of tags about pee, of course, but also a lot of tags starting with "peeking", as well as "peeling" tags, the "peekaboo" tag, and some small artist tags.
So it can be quite a headache to reduce your blacklist this way, but that's one way to do it.
As for the artist tags. I am pretty sure there is no way to block a tag type specifically. Same way for number of tags per post.
