Parse error
Posted on: 10/26/15 03:42PM

When I try to load the site using the Mbooru app on my phone, I am greeted with "Parse Error". I hear the API was down, and that it came back up. What is happening?

The API was changed. You are now required to log in before you can load the API. My guess is that Mbooru does not properly send your login cookies when accessing the API. You will need to contact the app developer to get this resolved.

Gotcha. Yeah the Login button on the app when Gelbooru is selected says Login is not supported. I'll forward them what you've said so they can update it.

I would love some update on this too. I like to have my gelbooru on my android, but thanks to the nasty popups or redirects, I cannot surf it so smooth anymore.
Also, Im kind of a noob on the subject but where do I get the info on the API to "mod" it into an existing app?

That depends on what language the app is written in, and a whole bunch of other factors.

Damn, I suck at this... hahaha, but it is really crappy that nobody has resolved this.

Well, it's not on our end. The change in functionality is intentional, so it's up to the app developers to update their software to support it.

After getting this to work on my app, I can guarantee that it is incredibly easy to get Gelbooru to work again with third party clients. If you can contact them, there is a discussion thread that provides instructions to make it work.

gelbooru.com/index.php?pa...ew&id=3264&pid=70

The problem is when you release an app to the public. It means asking them to go into their browser's cookies and get the Password Hash, then put it in some "Login" section of your app. That, or put your password hash in the data files of your program, which means your account is comprimised and everybody can use it.

Will you implement an API key system ?

Edit: Jutst saw the link above.

Or you can have the app log you in to the site and get the pass hash from the response header.
