Blacklisting will not work

I tried to blacklist a few tags recently and it didn't work, the changes just kept reverting back to what they were previously. However, I was logged out of gelbooru (for some unknown reason) and then I logged back in and some changes that I tried to make ages ago actually appeared. But, I tried logging in and out of gelbooru to double check if that would work but it didn't. The funny thing is, I didn't have this issue on google chrome (which I don't use anymore because of it's way with dealing with adds). Not to mention I have Java script enabled and cookies so I really am confused as to why this won't work.
