I want the pictures in my collection on my computer to include the tag data available on Gelbooru so that I can more flexibly search through them. How would I go about obtaining this tag information in a timely manner?

If youwant more info, I suggest you go on Rule34 and read the API docs. Since Gelbooru has a really incomplete documentation, you shoud go there. The site's API is the same as Gelbooru.

You could make a simple image grabber that'll name the picture with it's tags.

The xml file link only had 30 or so tags in it. It would be useful to me if I could get the entire list of tags in xml format. Every time I visit this site I tag a few images. I would like to make a small program to read the file and return results. I'm not sure exactly what I am going to have the program do yet.

The entire list of tags has several hundred thousand entries. That's not really something that the site's designed to spit out all at once.
