What is the consensus on photography of famous Japanese photographers around here? This site is for Japanese artwork, is it not? Therefore, it should be allowed, right? ;3

Is fine art allowed too, as long as the creator of the work was Japanese?

Alright, so, for clarification, if the subject of the photograph is NOT Japanese, but the photographer is, then it is ok?

If it's a landscape photo or something, then sure.

If it's a photo of a person, they must be cosplaying or an important figure in the anime/manga/j-game/j-music/JAV industry.

But what about real asian persons like for example playmates? I know there are stills and scenes of asian or asian looking pornstars around. Both with and without watermarks.

I also know that the whole watermark-issue is a bit touchy...

Oh and btw, where can I find a "Do not post"-list for gelbooru.com? I think I saw one floating around a while ago but can't seem to find it again...

Not really, it's pretty straightforward: if the watermark was put there by anyone but the original artist or their publisher, it isn't allowed. Period. That's all there is to the rule. Any watermarks placed there by the original artist or their publisher are allowed.

Not wanting to sound nagging but could you be a bit more "yes" or "no" on the playboy?

There were some pics of Hiromi Oshima around (quite a while ago) but not anymore so I guess...

Again, sorry for being kinda nagging but I just want to be sure...

For playboy in particular, that would probably count as a paysite unless the images you're uploading are available for free from official sources.

Other than that, there is no such thing as a hard yes or no when it comes to the artist rule. It's decided on an image-by-image basis.
