I have over 1,500 images in My Favorites. Images that I would hate to lose. If this site were to ever be shut down for whatever reason, would there be any kind of warning so that users might be able to save their favorite images before it's too late?

That depends on the circumstances of the shutdown. If, for example, loli were to become illegal and highly enforced and we couldn't purge it from the site fast enough, there probably wouldn't be a warning. If it just kinda slows down until it stops being self-sufficient, then yeah, you'd probably have plenty of warning.

Save absolutely everything!

For what it is worth, most of this content comes from another site. Pixiv, ex-h, danbooru, which is the same way, and so on.

This is a great archive and navigation interface though, but there will always be something like it. Because it came from something like it so we know it works.

All the stuff here gets reposted to Sankakucomplex so hopefully our hard work will be safe if the worst happens.

Don't forget The Big Imageboard, minus most webms, everything from here and elsewhere will be reuploaded there also.

TBIB is on the same server rack as Gelbooru, so chances are TBIB would go down too if Gelbooru did.

I have a flash drive with massive memory and while I hope this site doesn't disappear since it is my primary source, but I have enough images to start my own Booru if Gel every got shut down. I learned not to trust "favorites" after Fakku started purging and making free content less and less available.

If we have to purge the site, you can expect a torrent to be made by someone with all the image data that was removed. A shocking amount of people actually use our API for whatever reason.
