why is it that we have a limited number of comments? i know there is that "reputation" thing, but why cant we comment and just not receive points for it?

It is to avoid spam comments. Also the XP system is linked to your comments.
Gelbooru has a small staff, so those limits help to lower the load on the moderation team.

Also you just registered your account today. You should be understand why a brand new user posting 10+ comments in one day would be limited.

how do you mean? like you only made one comment a day? I love commenting, whether making a joke, or (i hope they take it as) constructive criticism, or even just like "damn! thats hot!". I'm just kinda an interactive person
