Usually anime fandoms are in favor of yuri because hot or cute, but today I just learned that the BA fandom is against yuri shipping not because of homophobia or because "Nooo, [girl]-chan should only be with me! She can't be gay!" But because they fucking hate how yuri fans ruin every fandom they touch, mainly the gacha fandoms, it makes me want to give BA a 2nd chance cuz based fandom.

Are yuri fans really that toxic?

Guess I'm not too well kept up on anime/hentai fandoms as I had once thought, because this is news to me. I have heard that yaoi fans can be toxic to fandoms, but that's usually because most franchises stay pretty far away from gay male ship bait content. Meanwhile yuri bait seems to be very common and well accepted.

Personally, from what I understand about Blue Archive, is that nearly all of the girls are in love with the male self-insert. They're all about pleasing him, not each other, so maybe that's where the discrepancy comes up.
