After finishing watching all episode of Macross Plus , there was actually a hidden message about the existence of A.I. virtual idol which have been a part of the story.
A kind of spoilers: the virtual idol have reach breaking through ground technology that its capable of being manipulate the masses and measuring the dopamine level of their brains that could cause an entire population in a daze like hypnotic state by signing some weird chant song. Moreover, the A.I have been able to take control of the entire macross ship system via hacking causing the ship to launch it's entire weaponry at ease. In addition that it could capable of taking control a drone ship that was newly developed by the U.N Space navy. Man, it was truly a message that could be considered as a warning of the danger in regards to the existence of A.I.

That is very interesting. I have to watch that.
We humans have been aware for quite awhile of the dangers of creating Artificial Intelligence. Of creating something that can easily surpass us... It seems like it is something inevitable. We are digging our own graves.

It is an OVA consisted of 4 episode. Although the story was lacking in terms of character story , the anime was one of a masterpiece among the Macross series. Give it a try.

If you're trying to say this predicted the emergence or vtubers, yeah idunno.
Because I feel like that's probably been a dream since the 80's when both computer technology and the Japanese idol industry were rapidly booming.

The Robotech movie from 1986 centered around the Southern Cross arc but it did have an AI idol as a character.
