First off, gender tags are by "what you see". If you see penis and testicles, it's a man. If you see breasts and a vagina, it's a female. If you see what's obviously a female character but with a dick and balls, it's a futanari.
Now I understand the current day western movement is to not misgender anyone at all costs, which I can somewhat respect, but traditionally speaking, a person's gender is always determined by their biological sex. As fiction is mostly cut and dry (except for cases like Bridget, who was known as a boy for 20+ years until 2 years ago), it's either male or female. In rarer cases, hermaphrodite, futanari, or unknown/other are added to the mix.
Bridget is (and should be) only tagged female if she's been sex swapped into a full-fledged female (tits, vagina, no male body parts, etc.). Bridget is still biologically male as far as we know, so all bridget tags that aren't sex-swapped (boobs, vagina) should be tagged male.
Second, no, only site staff can bulk tag characters. Because if trolls would abuse the feature if they were allowed to.
Hope that helps.
In this case, would it be better to introduce new tags? I've seen some other sites use thing like "Lore Tags" to better illustrate some of these labels that have developed. I feel like it'd be really nice to give it a shot. Being able to look up characters via identity would be a pretty neat way to explore especially if youre someone who identifies with those same traits and want to see something similar or are attracted to it.
