If the post breaks the rules or you upload a newer version, you can try flagging the old one for deletion.

There's also the legal alternative:

If an artist releases an updated version of an image, we keep both.

Posts will only be removed if they break site rules or if you submit a DMCA takedown for them.

The DMCA process still applies if you are not in the United States, since Gelbooru is operated in the United States and thus subect to US copyright law.

It isn't about proving that it's your artwork. To be compliant with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we are required to have the DMCA form on file before removing the image. The DMCA form is a legal document admissible in court.
