I'm guessing the servants were in on the fact that Arthur is a woman. I wonder if Saber's life would have been less screwed if she just admitted to being a girl in the first place. I mean, part of the troubles was due to the fact that many of her subjects felt she was a bit cold or distant due to her efforts to be a king(male).

...except that in Fate/Stay Night, the series this picture is from, as can be easily seen in the tags, King Arthur was actually Arturia Pendragon, a female who was raised as a male because her father, King Uther, knew the people would never except a female as their ruler. And this picture is of her. Next time, try spending the five seconds it takes to Google something before shooting your mouth off?

More to the point, Saber (Arturia) threw away her womanhood to become king; it had little to do with Uther at all. She accepted that she would not be perceived as a woman- likely part of the "curse" that came with pulling Caliburn from the stone; that was the sword of England's king, and the king could only be male, therefore Arturia could only be male: Arthur.

The artwork is fanart, and it shouldn't be taken as anything else.
