Actually Crimson, if you look at her arms you'll notice their chitinous covering is uneven.
That and the "creeping veins" would suggest they're transforming her.

It looks like the girl is inside of a giant caterpillar by the walls around her having veins and the fact that the walls look like an anatomy image I have seen before. So it could be unbirth with those smaller insects living in the "mother".
