France as a substantial force was pretty much long gone when the Taiga was built.

But no matter... pretty much everyone was (or wanted to be) running away from the Tiger, regardless of what country they fought for.

History in MY anime?

Pretty much only late allied designs were effective against the Tiger and it's bigger brother the Tiger II or King Tiger as the Americans knew it.

Tactics for engaging enemy Tiger tanks usually involved flanking with superior numbers or simply bombing the crap out of it through air power.

One of my most favorite tanks of WWII, the thing just bleeds badassness :D

Funny though that with todays standards in MBT's size even Tanks like the Tiger Series gets dwarfed.
I own both a Tamiya King Tiger and a Leopard 2 A6 in 1/16th scale and the difference in size ( especially the turret! ) is quite remarkable.

While the Turret of the King Tiger takes about a little more in size than half it's chassis the Tiger ones only takes about a third.
The Leopard 2 A6 turret on the other hand is HUGE as if another tank is sitting on top of the chassis.

The picture is a reference to the anime "Girls und Panzer". I love that anime and I am so happy the artist mixed the two series in one awesome picture!
