i read the perfect fanfic for this a while back...apparently kyuubi had sent kushina into the future to save he right before "her" claw wouldve peirced kushina.

Later on Itachi appears in the forest of death with Kisame and uses Mangekyou on Naruto to forcibly awaken the Uzumaki secret Rinnegan bloodline(males only). A tad later when Naruto is training,his momma,who hes already gotten a akward crush on due to seeing what she looked like(thanks to Kurenai being nice),his mom falls out a timeslip landing right on him.(ow)

fun note:She hadnt aged a day.

fun note 2: Narutos DNA changed completely when he awakened the rinnegan(making him completely unrelated in blood) and also aged him by about 4 years.

The fact he could use all elements...and sub elements...LOLZ epic.
