The wings on the fan Squall is holding is a reference to Rinoa. The back of her jacket has those angel wings on it and she forms wings when she uses her second Limit Break, Angel Wings.

The feather is a reference to to Boko, who's Bartz's Chocobo in FF5, and a summon in FF8. But it's also a good luck charm he keeps and loans to Squall in Dissidia, which was possibly to reference the Boko connection.

As for Simon, I got no clue. I never saw Gurren Lagann.
