I think the blade that pyromancer stab Quelana is Chaos Blade, which was forged from her half-demonic sister Quelagg's soul... I wonder what artist trying to imply?
Maybe the pyromancer give her the twisted form of "retribution" (Quelana has survivor's guilt as she is the only one of her family not transformed into abomination and lack courage/power to mercy kill them). Maybe Quelagg's soul influence his action out of resentment? Maybe it is even Quelana herself who ask her pupil to kill her with her sister's soul? Her face seems kinda sad, while we couldn't see the pyromancer's face.
