Or at least they would be equally as unnecessary/extinct as women, since presumably futas would be proficient on both ends (in a perfect world).

They're talking about a real futa. Which is to say one that would be capable of both impregnating and being impregnated. Same thing as with the person who mentioned transgender. Though they might fight the base physiological profile, it's not the same thing. That's my take, anyway.
