Ah, it always softens the terrible reality of Evangelion when you think, what if they are all just actors and best friends?

What if Shinji is just an actor who also plays Kenji from Summer Wars? What if Asuka is just an actor who played Siegland from Dragonaut? And Misato as that Misato look-alike from Rahxephon? What if all those broody, blue haired characters were just Rei playing the role she does best, like Samuel L Jackson always plays the badass?
