If you only look at the actors, then that might be what it looks like.
But the actual industry, the men in suits who run it, is actually quite wretched.
A lot of female actors leave because they feel like they're just pieces of meat and not pretty anymore. The industry goes through female actors at a staggering rate. It's quite horrifying.
The number of men is also pretty low to the point that they have little in the way of any sort of personal life. Up to six movies filmed a day for some. That's insane.
As a whole, there are very few sunshine and rainbows to be seen here.

Not true at all my friend. Yes I know of Shimiken. He is a very good man and yes he complains about the hardships of the industry in the article which I had read multiple times long long before I saw your post. You seem to forget that the same things you are talking about happen outside of JAV as well as the" pieces of meat " nonsense. Trust me I know damn well what I am talking about and have seen porn from just about everywhere in the world and I can tell you the JAV industry is the only place with truly good people in it. One final example Yuna Himekawa and Kurea Hasumi bonded so much in Yuna Himekawa's first lesbian film that they literally shed tears and said they really did love one another again (THEY SHED TEARS ) THEY WERE SO CLOSE THEY CRIED!!!! ( the only time that has happend outside of JAV was with actual couples.) In fact both girls have acted sad that it may be difficult for them to meet again because sometimes applications are hard to get for certain JAV films and you may not be accepted. Look it up on their Twitters. The JAV industry truly does have a REAL LOVE to it. If you really cant get past it's darker side then that is just sad. Everything is nothing more then just one big joke especially in American porn not to mention how fake it is. You would be surprised to learn just how much of it is bullshit whereas in Japanese pornography I have seen the opposite and have been surprised by how much of it is genuine. And he said something that sounded like porno but I can't be certain because it may have been out of context because I only saw it in a trailer for some documentary about him and could not seem to find it in the actual documentary. It's possible that some Japanese AV performers treat each other almost (no incestuous innuendo intended) because, at the end of the day, they're ALL Japanese, after all, Japan is still an incredibly racially and culturally homogeneous country, which is probably more conducive to the kind of rapport you're describing here.
