Honestly, there's no sin whatsoever that Naruto as of late became ridiculously non-ninja. I mean, Bleach has barely soul-reaping after the first arc, and One Piece also has a LOT of stuff that has nothing to do with piracy.
BUT, just as Naruto finaly reach its final saga, Kishimoto suddenly stops being a good story-teller he had always been and starts pooping deus ex machina everywhere. Srsly, its like hes trying to out-Kubo Tite Kubo...

Things evolve. I don't even watch Naruto and I can tell that it's changed over the years like everything.
