Well it wasn't quite as bad as dbz. Most of the supporting cast contributed throughout the series and it wasn't until the recent events where they became utterly useless. That's one of the reasons I dislike dbz, all the supporting cast became almost instantly useless by the second arc. I'm starting to go on a rant, I better stop.
