The "mission girl" is the Ōyodo. Only ship of her class, which was intended as an enlarged/improved version of the Agano class, for use as flagship to submarine attack squadrons.

Her final role was as the last flagship of the IJN, after it became clear that her original role was deemed impossible to fill.
