I can't recall where I read it, but apparently one of the game developers said that 10y olds are considered legal adults in the pokemon universe (and thus can get married, get a job, and have to pay taxes), when asked how they could justify kids running around and going on adventures. It would certainly explain why professional pokemon battler Ash has been able to travel the world without anyone questioning it.

It's also been said that the reason ash gets a new female companion so often is "Because boys need a new piece of eye candy every now and then."

So it could be said that it not "wrong" to look at the characters that way, since that's more or less why they were created.

Though they never should have replaced Misty. Series went downhill for me after that,

this is sad.

there are a few ways of seeing an animated characters age.

1. the way the creator see's it's age.
i.e. 10 apparently. unless she's aged in the plot of the show.

2. the way the viewer views the age. i.e. whatever the heck you, the viewer view the age.

3. the age could also be the amount of time since the conception of the character: this requires some research...

she debut'd on September 28, 2006 in japan. so thus. in terms of the japanese release. she would be... 9 years old as of my post.

so, the IDEA, of dawn, in terms of the copyrighted character that the person envisioned, is roughly 9 years old.

younger, during the times of the previous posts.

either way. it really depends on how you see it.

so everyone is wrong.

including me.

@Anon #1649280: Lol! Stop making up stuff. The player characters aren't even 10 year old in the games, for starters. Red/Leaf are 11, not to mention Hilda/Hilbert who are much older than Red/Leaf.
