Just in case it's needed : being called a hater is not about having standards for the characters. everyone has his/her own standards for them and that's just the way it should be. Being called a hater happens when you try to force your vision of things onto people who disagree with you using (not always verbal) violent methods, either towards those people directly or targeting the characters as a medium.
For example, I've been noticing for a while an anon on this site posting "fuck you sakura" on absolutely everything that has Sakura in it, even safe pics and pics that have nothing to do with fucking activities (like Team 7 posing pics). Now, disliking the character, whatever the reason, is ok, but trying to force others into disliking her by insulting her everywhere for no apparent reason (the anon never explained anything), THAT is what a hater is all about.
Now, if that person (or ano other, really) was to start behaving differently and start debates about different topics, explaining and defending his/her ideas while listenning to others doing the same with their own ideas, THAT would be awesome.

You seems to be a fairly composed person MyPitah. But that is not the case for the majority of shippers (whatever that ship may be). Every fans as the right to interpretation, that is much granted. But if people knew how to peacefully share their "standards" (and not all standards are equal) we would be perfect human beings and no war of any scale would happen on earth, nope. For it's not so much what happens in the manga that is alienating people than "fans" attitudes.
Character/ship bashing is lame. (that "fuck you sakura" was just plain sad) People who don't like how turned the character/story being labelled as haters is lame. But both happen. It happen all the time. On gelbooru, most people here use the "vote" system as a "sanction" system. It doesn't sanction anything really tho, as most people always check hidden comments, but the intention is here. That is as much sad and lame as anything else. You would expect a hentai site to be for (responsable) adult but no. :d
Since chapter 700, am I certain of one thing only about the naruto fandom. The worst and most ridiculous provocations come from the "winning side" (by lack of a better term). Special thanks to first first anon who illustrate that perfectly.
I'll be your "hater" over chapter 10 tho, since some people clearly beg for the attention. It is poorly written, making Gaiden (like the last before it) as much as a shipping material ressource than for antis, from 10 to 16 years old. With that said, I wish you truly good luck. For bad writting, plotholes and other illogicalities leave more openings to interpretation than anything else and child and teen are not know for being rational creatures. ( ･ω･)ﾉ
The "winners'" attitude is what create haters.

Shit happened because for some reason Shizune and Sakura could not simply say "You were born outside of village", Naruto got pathetically rusty, Sasuke refuses to kiss his own wife (who he banged probably one time only), Karin keeps Sarada's umbilical cord in her desk, Shin clones were absolutely hilarious (especially the fat Shin) and it took Sasuke 12 fucking years to make a photo of himself with his wife.

Shit happened because for some reason Shizune and Sakura could not simply say "You were born outside of village", Naruto got pathetically rusty, Sasuke refuses to kiss his own wife (who he banged probably one time only), Karin keeps Sarada's umbilical cord in her desk, Shin clones were absolutely hilarious (especially the fat Shin) and it took Sasuke 12 fucking years to make a photo of himself with his wife.

I've been seeing so many people with cruel and borderline sadistic attitudes towards the characters and other fans of the series that it I took a little sadisfaction in seeing all that hate come to nothing and those responsible suddenly become conspicuously absent. I love this series and it's characters and it's disheartening to see people being so disgusting to each other.

Anon 1 here. I admit that my post was a broad stroke comment that probably came off more derogatory than intended. It was aimed at just the kind of "haters" that MyPitah described (love you bro/sis!).
With all the hatred, gloating and general toxicity thrown about after the last few chapters, it's easy to get carried away and jump on each other. To be fair, the Anon talking about stardards and being tired of being labeled a "hater" shoulden't have taken offense to the comment if they don't feel that they are one. The comment wouldn't have been directed at them.
