She met her father for the first time and confirmed that he cares about her and Sakura, she confirmed that Sakura was her mom in every way that mattered despite the misconception otherwise, and she figured out what she wants to do with her life -- basically, she answered every question she had in the first chapter. Not sure how you could call that a downer? Especially since she's clearly smiling at the end?

Sasuke sends letters to Naruto but not his family. He constantly rejects Sakura's kisses. Not to mention Sasuke was ignoring his family before the mission even started(The Last and Chapter 700 shows that Naruto became Hokage long after Sarada was born). So Sasuke really had no excuse to neglect his family for so long.

Sasuke has a really shitty way of showing he cares about them and Kishi is terrible at writing Team 7's relationship as always. =/

Ah yes, I was waiting for the grammar card to be pulled. Yes, I noted I had made the grammatical error quite a long time before you did.
