Why didn't she just remove her clothes instead of make them explode ? It may be expensive to buy new clothes at each armor wearing.

In case you didn't know, the pendant has a clothes recovery system, so the clothes regenerate whenever they leave the transformation.

Though of course if something knocks them out of their transformation the regen won't occur and they'll be naked. It shows vulnerability. ... and fanservice:)
